Understanding Anxiety | New Horizon Therapy Centre
Anxiety can feel overwhelming, exhausting and difficult to switch off. You may find yourself constantly overthinking, worrying about the future, or feeling on edge without fully understanding why. At times, anxiety can affect your sleep, your confidence, your relationships and your ability to enjoy everyday life.
I offer counselling and hypnotherapy for anxiety in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire and online, providing a calm, supportive space where you can begin to understand what is happening for you and gently move towards feeling more in control.
What Anxiety Can Feel Like
Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. You may experience:
- Constant worrying or overthinking
- Feeling restless, on edge or unable to relax
- Panic attacks or sudden waves of fear
- Difficulty sleeping or switching off your mind
- Physical symptoms such as tension, tight chest or racing heart
- Low confidence or self-doubt
- Avoiding situations that feel overwhelming
You may also feel frustrated with yourself for feeling this way, especially when you want to feel calmer and more in control.
How I Can Support You
My approach is gentle, understanding and tailored to you. Together, we explore what is contributing to your anxiety and begin to create change in a way that feels safe and manageable.
I use a combination of counselling and hypnotherapy, alongside approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help you:
- Understand your anxiety and how it works
- Reduce overthinking and worry
- Feel calmer in your body and mind
- Build confidence and self-trust
- Respond differently to anxious thoughts and feelings
- Create a greater sense of balance and emotional wellbeing
We work at your pace, with a focus on helping you feel supported, understood and empowered.
